The 2025 Heritage Round sees the return to the awe-inspiring Hanging Rock. Hanging Rock recreation reserve offers athletes a challenging course in a ruggedly beautiful setting. This event is an excellent opportunity for clubs to showcase their history, and we encourage athletes to do so again in 2025.

It is suggested that athletes do not wear spikes for the event as a significant portion of the event is on trails that would not be suitable for spikes.
Access & Car Parking
All XCR attendees are to access Hanging Rock via the Hanging Rock Concert Venue Access point located on Colwells Road.
If travelling from Melbourne please turn right onto Colwells Road from Coach Road to assist with the direction of traffic along the narrow Colwells road.
For clubs who have Marquees, these can be dropped off at the Club Marquee area near the finish line via the car park up to 11.00am. After this time, cars will not be allowed into this area, however marquees can be wheeled or carried after this time. Cars are then to park in the carpark and will not be allowed back to this area until after the conclusion of the last race.
Please note: No pegging of marquees is allowed, weights only.
No Dogs
Please note that there are no dogs allowed at Hanging Rock for this event.
Drinking Water
Please note that there is no drinking water available at the venue.
We will be providing drinking water for everyone to use, and there will also be an onsite coffee vendor who will have water available for purchase, but please bear this in mind when preparing. In the event that this supply is exhausted, please pack enough water to sustain you for the day.
Bibs & Uniform
In the 2025/26 season, there will be no cloth bibs issued. We are committed to reducing our footprint on the environments we use. Your new timing bibs are now made from hardier material, designed to last the whole season – XCR and track! So please ensure you care for your bibs, e.g. do not machine wash, do not fold. Lost or damaged bibs will incur a new bib fee.
All registered athletes are required to wear the approved uniform of their athletics club, or its heritage variant. Non-Athlete AV members are to wear appropriate athletic clothing.
All athletes must wear their allocated 2025/26 AV Membership on their front and back, the smaller bib with the timing chip (foam sticker on the back) to be worn on the front. Non-compliance with the above may see disqualification.
If you are a non-Athlete AV member you are to wear your assigned temporary bibs at the race, if these are not worn you may not receive a finishing time or may be removed from the course.
Replacement Bibs
If you have lost or forgotten your bibs, please see the staff at administration, where you will be able to purchase a temporary or full replacement set.
Please note that bib sales at this event will be cashless. Only card payments will be taken.
Club Helpers
Clubs must provide helpers in accordance with the duty roster.
Any club who fails to supply Club Helpers may face disqualification for an XCR’25 event and/or lose team points for a particular competition.
Marshalling
Athletes are required to marshal for their event no later than five minutes prior to their allocated start line.
Presentations
Presentations will be carried out following the verification of results for each event.
If you have finished in the top three in any of the following events please ensure that you are available for presentation – located adjacent to the finish area.
Amenities
Coffee Events will be on site selling coffee, muffins, and snacks on the day.
Keep It Clean
Please take any rubbish you have with you or use the available rubbish bins onsite.
In particular we ask that you keep all areas clear of energy gel waste, and ensure that any used packets are only discarded directly into a bin.
Results
Results, including live results, XCR Team Championship ladders and XCR Individual Championship ladders will be published through out the XCR season on the Athletics Victoria ResultsHub webpage – https://athsvic.resultshub.com.au/
First Aid
Colmed will be on site throughout the day. They will be situated at the start/finish line, and also situated out on the course during the event. If anyone needs first aid, please ask an official/club helper to radio through and first aid will be out to help.
Weather Policy
Athletics Victoria has an Unfavourable Weather Policy in place for the upcoming 2025 On XCR season. Please note we will let athletes and team managers know any information regarding this before the day or make announcements on the morning of the event. Please listen out for these throughout the day for any extreme weather announcements.

This can be done via email to sportdelivery@athsvic.org.au or by phoning the Athletics Victoria office on (03) 7032 8400 and pressing 1 for the Sport Delivery Team. Please leave a message explaining the issues you are experiencing. Athletics Victoria will not accept any late entries. Emails received after the closing date will not be accepted.
