XCR’21: Round 8 – Lakeside10


Athletics Victoria will make a decision regarding Lakeside:10 in the coming days, based on advice from the DHHS.

Date: Sunday 15th August 2021

Entries Close: Wednesday 11th August 2021, 11:59am (Midday)

Location: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park, VIC 3206

A fast and flat 10km road race, starting and finishing at the Lakeside Stadium precinct, the Lakeside:10 includes two laps out and back from Lakeside Stadium to Junction Oval, on Lakeside Drive. The Albert Park, 10km Road Race, is the perfect opportunity for athletes to run a fast time or simply enjoy the lake’s surroundings.

Event Entry Process:

While we are hoping to have returned to a COVID normal setting for Lakeside10, an update from the Victorian Government regarding Community Sport and relevant restrictions is unlikely to occur until Thursday the 12th of August (current expected conclusion of lockdown). Further information regarding COVID requirements will be provided in a bulletin following a Victorian Government update, and the event’s close of entries however, to best prepare for multiple eventualities, please ensure that you action the following.

To participate at the Lakeside10 event on Sunday the 15th of August, athletes must:

1. Process an event entry via the AV portal:

  • Athletes who have purchased a Max or XCR package will automatically be included in the entries. This can be confirmed via your My Event Entries in the AV Portal
  • No late entries will be accepted
  • No on the day entries will be available

2. Complete the Seeding Form:

  • All athletes must complete the Lakeside10: Seeding Form (click HERE). If wave starts are required, and you have not completed this form, you WILL NOT be allocated to a race and WILL NOT be able to participate.
  • This must be completed by 11:59am Wednesday 11th of August
  • If you have any issues completing the form, please email sportdelivery@athsvic.org.au

  • **Start times and race format for this event may be adjusted following further announcements from the Victorian Government. Once entries are closed, a risk assessment will be undertaken and members notified of any change.

COVID Requirements, including Venue Access, Warm Up, Presentations, and Club Tents:

  • All patrons must check-in using the Victorian Government’s Services App.
  • NO SPECTATORS (Junior and Para athletes may have 1 Parent/Guardian attend if required).
  • Further information regarding COVID requirements will be provided in a bulletin following a Victorian Government update, and the event’s close of entries.

Parking:

  • Car parking is available in the areas surrounding Lakeside Stadium. Please note that parking fees may apply.
  • Athletics Victoria accepts no responsibility for parking infringements and/or incidents which may occur at Lakeside10.

Club Helpers:

  • Clubs must provide helpers in accordance with the duty roster.
  • Please contact Andrea Hallett (andrea@athsvic.org.au) if you have any questions regarding communicated club helper duties.
  • Any club who fails to supply Club Helpers may face disqualification for an XCR’21 event and/or lose team points for a particular competition.

Bib Collection:

  • Athletes: If you registered as an athlete following the St Anne’s event, your bib will be able to be collected from Check-In as you arrive for the competition. If you were registered prior to St Anne’s please ensure you have your bibs for competition. If you are unsure whether your bib has been distributed to your club, please visit the Bib Information link located in the Important Information section of this page.
  • Team Managers: We ask that all team managers please contact any athletes for whom they currently have AV bibs and distribute to athletes prior to Lakeside10.

If you have issues entering the event please contact Athletics Victoria PRIOR to the closing date. This can be done via email to sportdelivery@athsvic.org.au or by phoning the Athletics Victoria office on 7032 8403 (Craig Wallace). Please leave a message explaining the issues you are experiencing. Athletics Victoria will not accept any late entries. Emails received after the closing date will not be accepted.

NOTE: Please be aware that following the closure of entries, AV will publish a provisional timetable which will take the place of the Draft Timetable.
