AV Throwers – Meet 5

March 21 @ 2:24 pm

Date: Saturday 23rd March 2024

Location: Doncaster Athletics track (Rieschiecks Reserve), Doncaster East.

Welcome to AV Throwers; a short and fast format competition all throwers! This event is coming up soon, and to make sure it all goes smoothly we’ve put together some simple steps for you to follow.

Prior to the event, please ensure you read the below information.

Discus & Javelin Competition Format

Due to the unprecedented volume of entries, we have taken more than the advertised 10 entries in both the Discus and Javelin for this meet. For this reason, we have split from Mixed events, and will be competing in Male and Female. There will be 12 Male and 12 Female throwers in both Discus & Javelin.

All athletes will receive 1 practice throw, at the start of competition, on the field of play. All athletes will receive 3 throws in competition, then the top 8 ranked athletes will receive an additional 1 throw. The remainder of the athletes will conclude their series. Due to the quality of entrants we want to try and provide as many opportunities to compete, but we are limited to the timeframe of competition.

Athlete Check-In & Marshalling:

ALL Field athletes are assumed checked-in for their event.

Athletes MUST marshal at the event site 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Athletes who have a clash due to another field event or track event are to make officials aware in line with the above information.

Competition Bibs:

All registered AV athletes will be required to wear their 2023/24 season bibs. Invitational Athletes who do not have current AV bibs will be able to collect a temporary set at administration located outside the canteen.

Implement Check-In:

Implement check-in will be available 1 hour before the scheduled start time of event. Implement check-in is located at the Doncaster Tech Shed, on the NW side of the track, in the middle of the 200m bend.

SHOE DECLARATION – National Permit Meets

As the A Field events are World Permit meets, Open & U20 athletes in these events are required to complete an AV online Shoe Declaration Form prior to their first HVC meet. Athletes are to wear shoes that comply with the World Athletics Shoe Rule. For a current list of compliant shoes, please download the latest list: https://worldathletics.org/about-iaaf/documents/technical-information

All Open & U20 Athletes inclusive of Para athletes, attempting a State Record, National Record or International qualifier MUST complete a shoe declaration form prior to participation at a AV Throwers meet.

Please complete the online form HERE prior to the event!
