The Victorian Athletic League (VAL) conduct athletic carnivals known as Gifts (historically called professional Athletics or Pro’s) across the state of Victoria. Gift races allow athletes of all abilities to compete in a fun, competitive and social environment. Each athlete is given a mark (handicap) based on their ability, giving them an equal opportunity to triumph in their chosen event. All events include prize money. Prize money varies in each event and can range from $300 to $60,000.

The Victorian Race Walking Club is a specialist racewalking club which has been affiliated with Athletics Victoria since 1921.The club conducts a comprehensive range of racewalk events from its club headquarters in Middle Park and caters for all age groups from U9 through to Masters.
