Athletics Victoria seeks Expressions of Interest for three new Working Groups

In line with the objectives of AV’s 2023-26 Strategic Plan, the Working Groups are each designed to support the development and execution of a relevant strategy.

Specifically, Athletics Victoria seeks suitable candidates for the following Working Groups:

  1. Officials Recruitment & Retention Working Group – no fewer than three (3) volunteers/appointments sought.
  2. Recreational Running Working Group – no fewer than two (2) volunteers/appointments sought.
  3. Schools & Pathways Working Group – no fewer than two (2) volunteers/appointments sought.

In each instance, Working Groups will consist of external appointments, a member(s) of the AV administration, as well as a member(s) of the AV Committee. The maximum size of any Working Group is seven members.

Working Groups are expected to meet four times per year, with their remit solely focused on supporting the delivery of a respective strategy – for example, the Schools & Pathways Working Group will focus solely on supporting the delivery of the AV Schools & Pathways Strategy.

While the ‘Recreational Running’ and ‘Schools & Pathways’ Working Groups are new Working Groups, the Officials Recruitment & Retention Working Group effectively supersedes the Victorian Officials Committee (VOC), assuming many of the same responsibilities. Current members of the VOC, as well as any other interested person(s), are encouraged to complete the EOI process for this Working Group, or indeed for any other Working Group for which they bear interest.

While involvement in one Working Group does not preclude involvement in another Working Group, and indeed one may apply to be involved in all three Working Groups if they desire, applicants are encouraged to prioritise their selection(s) based on the area for which they bear most interest and relevant skills/experience.

In each instance, applications will be tabled with the AV Committee for consideration in late November.

Any questions relating to the above should be directed to AV CEO Matthew Duck in the first instance, via matthew@athsvic.org.au.

The EOI process will run until midnight Monday 11 November, and can be completed by clicking here.
