Pre requisite for this course is Level 1 Community Athletic Coach and having completed 30hrs of coaching after taking the level 1 course. The Level 2 Intermediate Club Coach Course is the next step on from Level 1 Community Athletic Coach course. It is designed to develop fundamental skills and drills, and understanding of the basic technical models for the events required for participation in athletics at club and school competition. The event groups covered include: • Sprints & relays • Hurdles • Middle & Long Distance up to 5000m – excluding steeple chase • Jumps – excluding pole vault • Throws – excluding hammer • Race-walking In addition the Level 2 Intermediate Club Coach Course covers the Skills of Coaching, Planning and Training Principles and Components of Fitness. Once you have completed the Level 2 Intermediate Club Coach course and have coached for 50 hours as a level 2 Intermediate club coach, coaches may choose to progress to Level 2 advanced event group coach to specialise and further their knowledge in a specific event group.
