AV Throwers – Meet 6

Date: Saturday 6th April 2024
Location: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park.

Welcome to AV Throwers; a short and fast format competition all throwers! This event is coming up soon, and to make sure it all goes smoothly we’ve put together some simple steps for you to follow.
Prior to the event, please ensure you read the below information.
Athlete Check-In & Marshalling:
ALL Field athletes are assumed checked-in for their event.
Athletes MUST marshal at the event site 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Athletes who have a clash due to another field event or track event are to make officials aware in line with the above information.
Implement Check-In:
Implement check-in will be available 1 hour before the scheduled start time of event. Implement check-in is located at the Lakeside Tech Shed, at the 200m bend.
Warm Up
Hammer & Shot Put Throwers will have warm up throws before commencing competition. Number of Warm Up throws will be detemrined by officials. Please take caution of fellow athletes and implements.
Hammer Throw:
All competitors will recieve 3 throws in competition, only the top 8 competitors after 3 rounds will recieve an additional 3 attempts. The remainder of the field will conclude their series.
Shot Put
Due to the high volume of entries with National Championships in a week, we have taken more than the advertised 10 entries in the Shot Put for this meet. For this reason, we have split from Mixed events, and will be competing in Male and Female. There will be 13 Male and 13 Female throwers.
All competitors will recieve 3 throws in competition, only the top 8 competitors after 3 rounds will recieve an additional 3 attempts. The remainder of the field will conclude their series.
Competition Bibs:
All registered AV athletes will be required to wear their 2023/24 season bibs. Invitational Athletes who do not have current AV bibs will be able to collect a temporary set at administration located outside the canteen.
SHOE DECLARATION – National Permit Meets
As the A Field events are World Permit meets, Open & U20 athletes in these events are required to complete an AV online Shoe Declaration Form prior to their first HVC meet. Any State Record, National Record or International qualifying performance will not be ratified without a Shoe Declaration being submitted.

All Open & U20 Athletes inclusive of Para athletes, attempting a State Record, National Record or International qualifier MUST complete a shoe declaration form prior to participation at a AV Throwers meet.
