AV Throwers – Meet 1

Date: Tuesday 28th November 2023

Location: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

Welcome to AV Throwers; a short and fast format competition all throwers! This event is coming up soon, and to make sure it all goes smoothly we’ve put together some simple steps for you to follow.

Prior to the event, please ensure you read the below information.

Athlete Check-In:

Check-in will OPEN – 5:00pm on Monday 27th of November.

Athletes MUST check in for the following events:

  • 400m Hurdles, 200m Hurdles, 60m, 400m – 30 minutes prior to event start time via ResultsHub. If athletes cannot check-in via ResultsHub, they can do so at Administration (located near the the finish line), but must do so 30 minutes prior to the published event start time.
  • Please review this guide for information on how the online check-in will work!
  • Field events – 10 minutes prior to their event start time.

Athletes who have a clash due to another field event or track event are to make officials aware in line with the above information.

All registered AV athletes will be required to wear their 2023/24 season bibs. Invitational Athletes who do not have current AV bibs will be able to collect a temporary set at administration located at the blue tent at the finish line.

SHOE DECLARATION – National Permit Meets

As the A & B Races and A Field events are World Permit meets, Open & U20 athletes in these events are required to complete an AV online Shoe Declaration Form prior to their first HVC meet. Any State Record, National Record or International qualifying performance will not be ratified without a Shoe Declaration being submitted.

Athletes are to wear shoes that comply with the World Athletics Shoe Rule. For a current list of compliant shoes, please download the latest list: https://worldathletics.org/about-iaaf/documents/technical-information

All Open & U20 Athletes inclusive of Para athletes, attempting a State Record, National Record or International qualifier MUST complete a shoe declaration form prior to participation at an HVC meet.

Warm Up

Warm up may take place on the warm up track, located behind the Northern Grandstand. There will be limited hurdles and training blocks for use.

Discus and Javelin throwers may use the grassed warm up area. Please take caution of fellow athletes and implements.

Discus & Javelin

All athletes will receive 1 practice throw, at the start of competition, on the field of play. Followed by 6 attempts for all athletes.

Implement Check

Those athletes requiring to check their implements will be able to do so from 5:00-5:15pm

This can be completed at the Tech Shed, located adjacent to the male toilets in the Northern Grandstand (back straight).
