2017 Victorian 5000m Championships

General Information
The Victorian 5000m Championships is highly popular event on the Athletics Victoria calendar and is often the breeding ground for some of Victoria’s strongest middle distance athletes.

Entry: Gate 1 Entry North Stand
Entries Close: 11:59pm Wednesday 15th November – No late or on the day entries will be accepted.
If you have issues entering the event please contact Athletics Victoria PRIOR to the closing date at summer@athsvic.org.au or the Competitions Department on 8646 4512/8646 4526 and leave a message explaining the issues you are experiencing. Athletics Victoria will not accept any late entries and emails received after the closing date will not be accepted.
NOTE: Please be aware that following the closure of entries, AV will publish a provisional timetable with allocated provisional times.

Refunds
Entry fees will only be refunded if a cancellation is received in writing to competitions@athsvic.org.au prior to entries closing. Any refunds after this time will be processed only if the written notification is accompanied with a medical certificate before the first day of competition.

Competition
Timetable

Check-in
Check in opens at 5pm. All athletes are required to check in 1 hour prior to their event to receive bib numbers (invitational athletes).
Athlete check-in will be located under the main grandstand. Please note if you do not check in by this time you will be scratched from your race.
Any invitational/interstate/international athletes will be required to collect their bib numbers when they check in.
If you believe you will be running late for your Check-In time, please call Athletics Victoria on the following number 0447 202 160.
Calls will not be accepted after your check-in time has closed.
Call Room
Please note there will be no Call Room for this event – all athletes are required to marshal at the start line 15mins prior to the start of their race to receive their hip number.
Lap Scorers
All athletes are required to provide their own lap scorer for this event. Lap scorers can be a friend, parent, partner or fellow athlete not competing in the same race.
Uniform
All athletes competing at the 2017 Victorian 5000m Championships must compete in correct club uniform with their current official bib number. For those athletes who are competing as invitational athletes from interstate/international clubs please wear your club uniform and Athletics Victoria will provide you with a bib number.
Spikes
At Lakeside Stadium, spikes must not exceed 7mm for track events. Conical, Pyramid and Christmas tree (compression tier) spikes are permitted. Needle or pin spikes are not permitted.

First Aid
St Johns Ambulance will be on site throughout the event.
Toilet facilities
There are toilet facilities open around Lakeside stadium.
Car Parking
Car parking is available within lakeside stadium car parking and MSAC parking facilities.
Looking after Lakeside Stadium
We are very grateful for the opportunity to compete at Lakeside Stadium.
- Park only in designated parking bays
- Take home all rubbish so that we leave the venue as we found it.
- Do not litter any rubbish. Please use bins provided.
- Make sure your athletes leave the toilet blocks in a respectable state.
