2023-24 AGM Recap

Athletics Victoria’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the 2023-24 year was held on Wednesday 24 July. The AGM recognised a successful year for Athletics Victoria, highlighted by a strong financial result and improved membership and participation figures, and saw the election of a new member to the AV Committee.

Two positions were up for election at the AGM, with the three-year terms of Committee members Rob Wendel and Sophie Ootes coming to an end. Both Rob and Sophie were eligible to renominate, with Rob indeed renominating, while Sophie opted not to renominate.

With two nominations received for the two available positions, the AGM saw incumbent Committee member Rob Wendel reinstated for another term, while Ruby Holten was also elected to the Committee for a three-year term.

Ruby brings significant experience in the sport to the role, having served as Sandringham Athletic Club President for the past five years, as well as being a longstanding coach and athlete in her own right.

Following the AGM, the Committee Executive was voted in unchanged, with Rob Wendel re-elected President for 2024-25, while Michael Carney & Clare Burton will continue as Committee Vice-Presidents. Sam Kinmond will continue her role as AV Treasurer.
