Athletics Victoria Trust is pleased to call for applications from clubs for the 2022 Grants program. The Trust awarded $18,659 to Athletics Victoria affiliated clubs/groups in 2021 to assist with projects encouraging greater participation in our sport. Successful activities included equipment purchase and venue and coaching development.
The Trust is in a position to offer grants of up to $5,000 for 2022. Projects where the applicant proposes to contribute at least 50% of the total project expenditure, may be viewed with greater favour by the panel. Please circulate this information to your committee and individual members and note the closing date of 31st October 2022.
The AV Trust was established more than 30+ years ago as a completely separate entity from Athletics Victoria with a substantial donation by Stan & Dame Margaret Guilfoyle. The sole and strict purpose of the Trust is to promote the sport of athletics in Victoria, as conducted by Athletics Victoria.
This substantial fund provides for half of its annual earnings to be available to suitable applicants on a competitive grant basis, each year. Our preference is to spread our grants as widely as possible, and we are certainly not looking for very large applications that could potentially consume all of the funds available.
As indicated on the application form, pretty much anyone involved in the sport can apply, so long as it is good for the sport. It is up to each applicant to make their case in the application as we do not anticipate holding any form of the interview process. We may, however, need to follow up on some applications for clarification.
Please note where a Club or Venue is applying; please do not submit applications for equipment that would typically be provided by your local Council. However, if you can get some funding from Council for an exclusive use project, we will consider an application for funding. It will always be helpful to provide a quote for the equipment or service that you are applying for.
Please read the information carefully and complete the application form with as much information as possible. Successful recipients’ funds will be payable upon confirmation that the item has been purchased and fully paid. It is expected that this will occur before 31/3/23.
