On Victorian U20 & Open 5000m Championships

This event will use online check in, which will close one hour before the scheduled start time of the event.

Athletes will be required to pick up their hip numbers from the marquee at the finish line 15 minutes prior to their race start time. Hip Numbers are to be worn on the right hip & also on their right breast to assist lap scorers. Athletes will be required to marshall at the finish line 10 minutes prior to the race and will then be escorted to the start line passing the lap scorers

Please note due to the size of the expected crowd only the toilets located adjacent to the finish line will be operational during this event.

All Open Men & Open Women A Race & U20 Championship Race Athletes, along with any Para Athletes attempting a National Record MUST complete a shoe declaration form prior to participation in the On Victorian U20 & Open 5000m Championships.

World Athletics Shoe Rule Update:

As of November 1 2024, World Athletics has updated their rules in relation to shoe eligibility. Athletes competing at the Victorian 5000m Championships must be aware of, and comply with, these regulations. Those unsure of their shoe eligibility can use the World Athletics Shoe Check Website here.

All athletes are required to provide their own lap scorer for this event. Lap scorers can be a friend, parent, partner or fellow athlete not competing in the same race.

Please note that the Lakeside warmup area will not be in use for this event.
