Victorian U20 & Open 5000m Championships

This event will use online check-in, which will close one hour before the scheduled start time of the event.

Those having difficulty with checking in online must attend the Administration Area at the finish line, before the close of check-in for their event.

Athletes will be required to pick up their hip numbers from the marquee at the finish line 15 minutes prior to their race start time. Hip Numbers are to be worn on the right hip & also on their right breast to assist lap scorers. Athletes will be required to marshall at the finish line 10 minutes prior to the race and will then be escorted to the start line passing the lap scorers

Please note due to the size of the expected crowd only the toilets located adjacent to the finish line will be operational during this event.

Lakeside Stadium Cafe will be open from 6:00pm until 9:30pm, and will host barista coffee service, hot and cold ‘grab & go’ style menu, chips, confectionery, and cold beverages.

All Open Men & Open Women A Race & U20 Championship Race Athletes, along with any Para Athletes attempting a National Record MUST wear approved  World Athletics Shoes to participate in the Victorian U20 & Open 5000m Championships.

Athletes competing at the Victorian 5000m Championships must be aware of, and comply with, these regulations. Those unsure of their shoe eligibility can use the World Athletics Shoe Check Website here.

All athletes are required to provide their own lap scorer for this event. Lap scorers can be a friend, parent, partner or fellow athlete not competing in the same race.

Athletes who are members of other Australian Athletics membership associations are eligible to enter this event. Please contact the Sport Delivery Team via sportdelivery@athsvic.org.au with your National Member ID number, date of birth and best time from the last 12 months.
