Location: Les O’Brien Athletics Precinct, 229 North St, Albury NSW 2640
The Victorian Country Athletics Championships is a celebration of athletics, offering events in all age groups from U14 up to 60+. Both Metro and Country athletes can compete and enjoy the festivities that the Victorian country regions have to offer.
Please Note: Metro Club Athletes will be Invitational Athletes at the Country Championships and will be awarded invitational medals across the Championships.
We are continuing to review the weather forecast and are currently adjusting the timetable further than the current published Provisional Timetable.
We will be starting events on Saturday at 9:30am, with Sunday and Monday events starting at 7:30am with the aim to conclude most, if not all, events by 2pm each day.
We will also be in communication with the Local Organising Committee to ensure enough shade is offered for competitors and officials throughout the weekend.
We encourage athletes to be prepared for warm weather andensure all athletes are well hydrated both prior to arriving to the venue along with during the competition along with following the cancer council safety campaign of SLIP on sun-protective clothing, SLOP on SPF 50+ sunscreen, SLAP on a hat, SEEK shade & SLIDE on sunglasses.
Final changes to the timetable will be communicated to entered athletes and volunteer officials via email as well as posted on Athletics Victoria social media platformsonce completed.
Due to the Pole Vault area at Albury deemed unsafe, the Victorian Country Championships will be held in conjunction with Meet #3 of the Rare Air Competition at Geelong on the 20th of December.

Club Helpers
Clubs with participating members will be required to provide volunteer helpers for this event. Duties will be allocated and communicated to clubs once entries close.
Late Entries
Due to the considerable amount of planning and administration required for this event, no late entries will be taken for this event.
Only Athletics Victoria athlete members, or those with an equivalent level of membership from another Australian Athletics member association are eligible to compete at Victorian Championship events.

Interstate athletes wanting to compete – please email sportdelivery@athsvic.org.au with your National ID number, date of birth, events you wish to enter (with age group) & seed time/performance for each event.
ONLINE CHECK IN – IMPORTANT
As a lead up to the upcoming State Championships, it is a requirement of the 2026 Country Championships that all athletes check in via the online check in system. This will be for both track and field athletes. Please read the updated Technical Regulations carefully for more information. Online check in instructions can be found via the link below. More information will be provided via email to all participants, and AV technical staff will be onsite to provide assistance in the event of technical difficulty.
Les O’Brien Athletics Precinct Amenities
There will be a fundraising BBQ kindly provided by local clubs for this weekend. The BBQ will be open at the following times:
Saturday: 8:30am until close.
Sunday: 7:00am until close.
Monday: 7:00am until close.
The BBQ will offer a range of options, including:
Bacon and eggs rolls at breakfast
Sausage Sandwiches
Steak Sandwiches
Hamburgers
Pulled Pork Rolls
Fresh Salad Rolls
Muffins and Banana Bread
Water, soft drink, sports drink
Zooper Doopers
Also in attendance at various times (weather dependent) will be
Mouse Tails Espresso
OMG Decadent Donuts (gluten, dairy, egg and nut free doughnuts in 12 flavours)
Albury City Council will also run a kiosk with hot chips, pies, sausage rolls, drinks, etc.

Please avoid parking on any formal footpaths in the area – Council Rangers will be patrolling, and any vehicles parked outside a designated parking area risk being fined.

KEEPING COOL IN ALBURY
With this weekend’s predicted high temperatures, we understand our athletes and their families may be looking for somewhere to cool off after a hard day of competition.
Albury has a public pool – details including opening hours can be found here.
The Noreuil Park Foreshore is popular with locals for a swim, BBQ, or just to relax in the shade with friends. The Albury City website lists details here.
If you have issues entering the event please contact Athletics Victoria PRIOR to the closing date. This can be done via email to sportdelivery@athsvic.org.au. Athletics Victoria will not accept any late entries. Emails received after the closing date will not be accepted.
