Date: Thursday 28th January 2021
Location: Aberfeldie (Corio Street, Moonee Ponds)
Athletics Essendon are excited to present this year’s edition of the Zatopek B Grade Races.
These THREE track races will be conducted at the Athletics Essendon athletics track in Aberfeldie Park, Corio St, Moonee Ponds.
Make the most of this opportunity to complete the rarely raced 10,000m distance on the track, this is THE race of truth for distance runners.
We welcome club runners, community runners, corporate runners, fun runners, joggers, mountain runners, parkrunners, recreational runners, social runners, trail runners, triathletes and ultra runners.
You do NOT have to be a member of an athletics club to compete in this event, all runners are welcome.
These three graded track races are for runners of all abilities and we want to provide the runners with the opportunity to race on the track in a graded competitive race.
Here is your chance to run a 10km P.B. no hills, no traffic, an accurate race distance, no short or long courses, no GPS needed
There will be three separate track races on the night, with forty in each race. Entries will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
Not sure if you can run 10km in less than 60 minutes? Don’t worry, in division three we encourage you to start the race and see how far you can run in 60 minutes. If you haven’t covered the full 10km in the time we will ask you to leave the track and you result will be the distance that you covered in the 60 minutes. So think of division three as a 60 minute run and there will be no pressure on you to run the full 10km distance.
Please include your qualifying time to ensure that we can seed you into the most accurate division for the night!
NOTE: Each runner MUST provide a LAP SCORER, to ensure that every runner completes the full 10km distance.
