XCR’22: Round 9 – Burnley Half Marathon

A level course along the banks of the Yarra River, the Burnley 5km and Half Marathon is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself and aim for a personal best or tune-up for a big spring and summer of fitness.

Non-AV Members: Keep an eye on your inbox next Thursday as we send you all the event info. Timing bibs can be picked up on the morning of the event.

In 2022, package holders are not automatically entered into XCR events. Each member will need to sign up for each round they wish to participate in.

The FAMILY3k run/walk is for the whole family and friends. Starting from just $20, you and your family can take advantage of closed roads and big event atmosphere on Sunday 4th, September.

FAMILY3k encourages everyone to get out and about in a non-competitive environment, focusing on personal achievement, with each participant receiving a medal to celebrate their success.

Presentations will be carried out once all results have been verified after each race.

If you have issues entering the event please contact Athletics Victoria PRIOR to the closing date. This can be done via email to sportdelivery@athsvic.org.au or by phoning the Athletics Victoria office on 7032 8403 (Craig Wallace). Please leave a message explaining the issues you are experiencing. Athletics Victoria will not accept any late entries. Emails received after the closing date will not be accepted.

NOTE: Please be aware that following the closure of entries, AV will publish a provisional timetable which will take the place of the Draft Timetable.


  • Presentations will be carried out following the verification of results for each event.
  • If you have finished in the top three in your respective event, please ensure that you make yourself available promptly for the presentation. The presentation area will be located at the marquee near the finish line.


  • It’s Time 4 Coffee will be onsite to provide coffee and a selection of delicious snacks.

Bag Drop:

  • We will be providing a bag drop tent for the convenience of competing athletes. While every effort will be made to protect your belongings, responsibility cannot be taken for any loss or damage. Please wear your race bib to both drop off and pick up your belongings; it will be used for identification purposes.


We advise you to arrive at least 90 minutes before your event. Please note that there is no parking within Botanicca Corporate Park or around the reserve. There is restricted parking around the event area. 

Arriving by public transport is highly recommended. The closest metro train station is Heyington. Local trams are along the Glenferrie Road, Burwood Road, and Riversdale Road corridors are also available. To plan your trip, download the PTV App on Apple here and Android here

Please be mindful of roadworks on the Monash Freeway near the Toorak Road exit.
