Date: Saturday 17th September 2022
Entries Close: Monday 12th September 2022, 11:59 am (Midday)
Location: Pillars of Wisdom (opposite Swan St Bridge) Tan Track, Melbourne, VIC 3000
The XCR’22 season culminates back at the home of racing in Melbourne; The Tan. Athletes will complete one lap of the 3.8km circuit in the hope of bringing the XCR’22 premiership to their club. On what is always a great day of racing, we would love to see all clubs set up their club tents on the lawn and enjoy the morning along the Yarra River.
Club administrators are responsible for completing team entries for XCR Relay events, not individual athletes. Any queries regarding team selection should be directed to your club.
Bibs: In the 2022/23 season, there will be no cloth bibs issued. We are committed to reducing our footprint on the environments we use. Your new timing bibs are now made from hardier material, designed to last the whole season. Please ensure you care for your bibs, e.g. do not machine wash, do not fold. Lost or damaged bibs will incur a new bib fee.

Club tents:
Clubs are encouraged to bring their club tents and set them up on the grassland at The Tan.
There is strictly no pegging of tents. All tents must be weighted, any clubs found to be pegging will be asked to replace them with weights or remove their tents.
Pegging of tents greatly jeopardises Athletics Victoria’s permit with the City of Melbourne and may result in not using the location for future events if broken.
Please ensure you bring enough weights for the expected winds. You may be asked to remove walls or lower marquees if you do not have the required weight for safety of all patrons.
Looking after The Tan:
We are very grateful for the opportunity to compete The Tan. Clubs are asked to remind their members of the following:
- The track is not closed for general public, it will be a shared pathway throughout the event. Please be courteous to all users of The Tan
- Athletes are to be mindful turning at any blind corners of the general public traveling in the opposite direction.
- Park only in designated parking bays
- Take home all rubbish so that we leave the venue as we found it
- Do not litter any rubbish along the course. Please use bins provided
- Make sure your athletes leave the toilet blocks in a respectable state.
- Please adhere to and respect the City of Melbourne’s rules, regulations and permit.
Parking:
There is a large amount of parking available along Alexandra Parade.
If you have issues entering the event please contact Athletics Victoria PRIOR to the closing date. This can be done via email to sportdelivery@athsvic.org.au or by phoning the Athletics Victoria office on 7032 8403 (Craig Wallace). Please leave a message explaining the issues you are experiencing. Athletics Victoria will not accept any late entries. Emails received after the closing date will not be accepted.
NOTE: Please be aware that following the closure of entries, AV will publish a provisional timetable which will take the place of the Draft Timetable.
