XCR’26 Round 2 – XC:Relays

A reminder that individuals do not need to enter the XCR Relay events, Club Administration manage team entries.

If you wish to compete please reach out to your Team Manager to make them aware that you are available to compete.

The best way to enter Jells for the XCR Relays is via Waverley Road – the Jells Road path is ‘exit only’.  Once you’ve entered at Waverley Road, you can park at the Jells Park East Car Park, or keep going to the main car park.  We’ll put some signs out to help.

Bibs: In the 2026/27 season, there will be no cloth bibs issued. We are committed to reducing our footprint on the environments we use. Your new timing bibs are now made from hardier material, designed to last the whole season – use them for both XCR and track! So please ensure you care for your bibs, e.g. do not machine wash, do not fold. Lost or damaged bibs will incur a new bib fee.

*For this competition, athletes will not be required to wear their individual member bibs – they will instead be required to wear the usual relay bibs, which will be supplied on the day.

*If you don’t have your 2026/27 AV Membership bib yet, bibs will be available for collection throughout the day at the Administration Tent.

*For relay events, each team will be supplied with a wristband that includes a timing tag for each relay team.

Teams are expected to return all relay bibs and electronic timing tags upon conclusion of their race. Please note that an $80 replacement fee will be invoiced to the club for any electronic timing tags not returned.

As we move toward a more electronic way of staging XCR relay events, the burden on officials and clubs will begin to decrease. For this meet, clubs will be required to supply helpers as per the club duty roster, however will no longer need to provide timekeepers for each team. Nevertheless, we will require some additional assistance to cover gaps on the day.

Team managers are now required to complete the team sheet online via ResultsHub. Clubs are encouraged to submit this prior to completion of competition to allow the timely presentation of medals and publication of results. Teams that have not submitted their athletes will not score points until these have been submitted. If unable to submit via ResultsHub, printed team sheets will be provided to be completed on the day.

Athletes must have an athlete membership submitted and approved by 11:59am on the Wednesday prior to the event for the team to be eligible to score points.

**Individuals must be born in 2015 or earlier to be eligible to participate in XCR events.

Clubs are encouraged to bring club Marquees to Jells Park; these can be set up in the section of the park that will be roped off by AV for clubs.

Please note: Athletics Victoria hold the right to ask clubs to lower or pack up marquees to meet our Parks Victoria permit risk management responsibilities.

Presentations will be carried out following the verification of results for each event.

If your team has finished in the top three in any of the following event divisions please ensure that your team is available for presentation – located adjacent to the club tent area.

Open Female & Male Premier Division, U20 Female & Male, U18 Female & Male, U16 Female & Male, U14 Female & Male, 40+ Female & Male, 50+ Female & Male, 60+ Female & Male, and this year Female & Male Open SC, 40+ Female & Male SC, 50+ Female & Male SC, and 60+ Female & Male SC.

No medals are awarded for Division 2 down of both male and female competitions.

Athletics Victoria would love to take this opportunity to celebrate our champion teams from season 2025, with a ceremony to present the pennants to our division winners.

The ceremony will commence from approximately 11am, with a photo opportunity and announcement acknowledging the victory.

Winning teams or their representatives are welcome to attend. Pennants will be available for pickup throughout the day for those short on time at presentation time.

Our friends from ‘It’s Time 4 Coffee’ will be on site selling quality coffee and snacks to patrons.

Jells Park has a new cafe onsite – ‘T House at Jells’ (formerly ‘Madelines at Jells’) 

Serving all-day breakfast, brunch, lunch and housemade pizzas.

Perfect spot for a post-run coffee or bite to eat.

There will be 4 medics on site throughout the day from our friends at Colmed.  2 medics will be situated in the first aid tent on the finish line, and 2 out on the course. If you or someone else requires medical assistance, please let an Athletics Victoria staff member or official know, citing the closest marshal point or directions to the person requiring assistance.

Results, including live results, XCR Team Championship ladders and XCR Individual Championship ladders will be published through out the XCR season on the Athletics Victoria ResultsHub webpage – https://athsvic.resultshub.com.au/

Athletics Victoria has an Unfavourable Weather Policy in place for the upcoming XCR’26 XCR season. Please note we will let athletes and team managers know any information regarding this before the day or make announcements on the morning of the event. Please listen out for these throughout the day for any extreme weather announcements.
