Victorian Track & Field Championships (Week 1)

The first weekend of the Victorian Track & Field Championships at Lakeside Stadium will bring together junior and open athletes from across the state as they vie for state titles and qualification to the Australian Track & Field Championships.

Please note: The Women’s U17 100m now require heats on Friday the 18th of February due to larger than expected entry numbers. Heats will be held at 5:50pm on Friday.

Victorian Track & Field Championship Gate Fees:

Tickets are non-transferrable between days

  • Entered Athletes are free of charge.
  • Registered coaches are free of charge if AA Accreditation (physical or digital card) is shown.
  • Children under 12 years of age.
  • Officals working at the Meet.

SHOE DECLARATION – National Permit Meets

Open & U20 athletes are required to complete an AV online Shoe Declaration Form prior to the championships if they have not already done so. Any State Record, National Record or International qualifying performance will not be ratified without a Shoe Declaration being submitted.

Athletes are to wear shoes that comply with the World Athletics Shoe Rule. For a current list of compliant shoes, please download the latest list: World Athletics Shoe Compliance List (as of 11 February 2022)

All Open & U20 Athletes inclusive of Para athletes, attempting a State Record, National Record or International qualifier MUST complete a shoe declaration form prior to participation.

Please complete the online form HERE or by printing off a copy of the AV Shoe Declaration Form and bring it to Call Room prior to your event.


Athlete Check-In

All athletes are required to check-in for their event, with Check-in located on the decking at the rear of the Main Grandstand. Check-in opens 90 minutes prior to the first event of the day. Athletes need to have their name and full entry highlighted for the first round of all their events. Please Note: Only events run on the day will be available to check-in.

Check-in closes 60 minutes prior to the event start time for all events except for Pole Vault where you need to check-in at least 90 minutes prior to the event start time.  If you are late, and we have not received communication via 0447 202 160, you will be scratched from the event. Para Athletes may access check-in via the Lift located behind the southern end of the main grandstand or call 0447 202 160 to check in for their events.

Athletes will not need to check-in if they have progressed from heats into the final, but they MUST attend Call Room.


Call Room

Athletes MUST attend Call Room at the specified time below for their events. This is prior to ALL scheduled rounds, including if you have progressed from a Heat to a Final. You MUST arrive at Call Room no later than the specified time below prior to your specific event otherwise you will be disqualified. If you have a clash of events, please make the Call Room Manager aware when you arrive for your first clashing event. Clash of Events forms will be provided.

Athletes must be dressed in their competition uniform and ready to compete. Uniforms, bib number(s), hip numbers (if applicable) and shoes will be checked to ensure that they comply with competition rules.

Athletics Victoria Officials will then marshal the athlete to the event site. You must marshal with the Athletics Victoria Official otherwise you will not be allowed to compete. Please Note: Coaches, parents and other spectators are not allowed in Call Room.


Australian National Nomination Process

Entries are to be completed via the Athletics Victoria portal by no later than 5pm Thursday 3rd of March 2022.

State Team Information

Tom Gamble will be available within the Presidents Room on Level 1 of the main grandstand at the following times across the weekend:

Friday 18th – 6:00pm-9:00pm

Saturday 19th – 10:00am-2:00pm & 3:00pm-8:00pm

Sunday 20th – 10:00am – 2:00pm

State Team Uniform

Project Clothing will be onsite at the following times across the State Championships for sizing and will be at Post Event Room – located ground level at the end of the Main Grandstand.

Saturday 19th – 2pm-6:30pm

Sunday 20th – 10am-1:30pm


Club Helpers: Clubs with participating members will be required to provide volunteer helpers for this event. Duties will be allocated and communicated to clubs once entries close.

Additional Information: Only Athletics Victoria athlete members, or an equivalent level of membership from another Athletics Australia member association are eligible to compete at Victorian Championship events.
