We thank you for your patience regarding the Athlete information for Weekend 1 of the Uncloud Victorian All Schools Championships.
As of Wednesday morning, we were made aware of an additional event impacting the Albert Park precinct on Sunday 26th October, with road and car park closures occurring around Lakeside Stadium.
Due to this, and to provide the best opportunity possible for access to the venue, we have made changes to the published provisional timetable and technical regulations for the Uncloud Victorian All School Championships.
The road and car park closures that will be in place due to the Around the Bay Bicycle event are as follows:
Aughtie Drive & Carpark – Closed until 7:30pm
Albert Road Drive & Aquatic Drive Carpark – Closed until 7:30pm
Lakeside Drive – Closed until 1:30pm
We suggest that athletes arrive early as there will be minimal parking close to the venue due to the closures, parking along Lakeside Drive may be available once the road has been opened.
The changes below have been implemented to avoid changing competition days and weekends for athletes, of which we are aware have been planned around for a significant amount of time.
Saturday
Timed finals for the 1500m events to be held on Saturday
Timed finals for the Sprint Hurdle event on Saturday
100m semifinals to be held on Saturday rather than Sunday
Finals of events that did not require heats will now all be held on Saturday
Track Timetable to commence at 9:30am and conclude by 8:10pm
Field Timetable to commence at 9:30am and conclude by 6:30pm
Sunday
Track timetable to commence at 2:45pm with the Race Walks
Field Timetable to commence at 3:30pm and conclude by 8:30pm
All Field events scheduled for Sunday will continue to be held on Sunday
Order of field events may have changed to allow us to best utilise our volunteer officials throughout the shortened program to host as many field sites as possible to shorten the program
Once again, we apologise for the late changes to our program and appreciate your support and understanding due to this unforeseen situation.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via sportdelivery@athsvic.org.au and we will respond as soon as possible.
