High Velocity Club
January 10 @ 12:15 pm - March 29 @ 4:15 pm

Welcome to HVC in 2025/26
At its core, HVC is a series to empower and support our local U20 and Open sprint talent to pursue World Athletics ranking points and chase international qualifying standards.
As HVC is a world permit meet, this allows us to prioritize athletes chasing selection for 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships, 2026 Commonwealth Games and 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships.Following feedback, this year will include more opportunities for sprint events across the HVC series.
The incorporation of an extra sprint event will be available at each meeting, meaning a 100m, 200m or 400m will be an option at every HVC. There is also an additional 60m opportunity at AV to support athletes wishing to compete at the Australian Athletics Short Course Championships.
To allow this change, we have tightened our limitations on entries:
- ONLY U20 and Open Hurdle specifications will be scheduled at HVC:
- Sprint – Female – 100mH (0.838m), Male – 110mH (1.067m & 0.991m).
- Long – Female – 400mH (0.762m), Male – 400mH (0.914m).
- ONLY 5 Heats will be scheduled for each Male and Female sprint events (60m, 100m, 200m, 400m). Where possible, AV may adjust schedule pending close of entries at each meet to increase opportunities.
- Horizontal Jumps will be limited to 15 positions for each gender with only the top 8 receiving three additional attempts.
- Entries will be ranked on Season’s Best (SB) as at 01/01/2025.
- If unsuccessful in gaining entry, a refund (minus transaction fees) will be granted
- Para Athletes: We will accept Para entries on a case-by-case scenario, again prioritizing Under 20 and Open athletes eligible for World Athletics/World Para Athletics competition.
Estimated guaranteed entry standard for HVC events (based off AV ResultsHub 2025 rankings) with 5 heat limitations:
| U20 National Event Standard | Estimated Guaranteed Entry HVC Standard* | |
| MALE | ||
| 100m | 10.84 | 10.95 |
| 200m | 21.74 | 22.10 |
| 400m | 49.64 | 49.70 |

| 200m | 25.44 | 25.5 |
| 400m | 58.34 | 58.5 |
*Athletes that have not reached the above estimated Guaranteed Entry HVC Standard are still eligible to enter HVC but heats will be limited to 5 to ensure that we can run 100m, 200m & 400m events at all HVC meets. Athletes will be accepted to fill all positions available based off their seasons best since 01/01/25. Any athlete not selected to compete will be provided a refund less any transaction fees.
A reminder that all AVSL meets have Australian Athletics Domestic Permit (AADP) status, and National Entry Standards can be achieved at these AV Meets.
All HVC meets will be granted World Rankings Competition (WRC) permit status unless otherwise stated.
