How it works:

All performances from AV Shield (including the AV Shield Final) and AV Knockout competition are included in the AV Rankings.*

  • The top 32 from AV Rankings in each eligible event can enter rounds 1 and 2 of AV Knockout.
  • The top 8 from AV Rankings in each eligible event will be selected for the AV Knockout Final.
  • To be eligible for the AV Knockout Final you must have competed in at least one round of AV Knockout and be in the top 8 of the AV Rankings.

* For round 1 of AV Knockout, results from AV Shield will form the top 32 for each eligible event.

Athletics Victoria Knockout (AV Knockout) is a state wide track and field competition. AV Knockout will incorporate two (2) rounds of competition plus one (1) Final. Athletics Victoria will use the AV Rankings to select the top ranked athletes in gender, age and performance criteria.

Date: Sunday 24th January, 2016

Entries Close: 11:59pm Sunday 10 January, 2016 – No late or on day entries will be accepted. If you are experiencing problems entering please contact ua.gro.civshta@remmus or call 8646 4500 before the closing deadline.

Entry Price: $10.00 per event.

Cancellation/Refund: Entry fees will only be refunded if a cancellation is received in writing to prior to entries closing. Any refunds after this time will be processed only if the written notification is accompanied with a medical certificate. Athletes will also be refunded if an entry is made and that particular athlete is not eligible in that discipline based on the AV Rankings.

Age Groups: 

Age Groups
U14: Athletes born in 2003 & 2004
U16: Athletes born in 2001 & 2002
U18: Athletes born in 1999 & 2000
U20: Athletes born in 1997 & 1998
OPEN: Athletes born in 1996 or earlier

40+: Athletes who are over 40 years of age on the 31st December 2016. (Please note there will be no single age groups in 40+ age category)
6b. All athletes, by default, belong to their relevant age group based on year of birth at all rounds of the 2015/16 AV Knockout season. Athletes will not be permitted to move age groups at any stage of competition. The minimum age in order to be eligible for AV Knockout competition is 12 years of age on 31st December 2016.

Under 20 Men & Women: The Under 20 competition is restricted to athletes aged 18 and 19 years of age on the 31st December 2016. For the 2015/16 AV Knockout season Under 20 athletes can compete in the open competition, but must do so for the whole season (i.e. no swapping between Open and Under 20 events). For events with a different implement or specification athletes must have achieved a performance in this discipline and featured within the AV Rankings to compete in future rounds of AV Knockout.
