AV Throwers – Meet 10

Location: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park.

Welcome to AV Throwers; a short and fast format competition for all throwers! This event is coming up soon, and to ensure it all goes smoothly we’ve put together some simple steps for you to follow.
Before the event, please ensure you read the below information.
Athlete Check-In & Marshalling:
ALL Field athletes are assumed checked in for their event.
Athletes MUST marshal at the event site 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Athletes who have a clash due to another field event or track event are to make officials aware in line with the above information.
Implement Check-In:
Implement check-in will be available 1 hour before the event’s scheduled start time. Implement check-in is located at the Lakeside Tech Shed, at the 200m bend.
Warm Up
Hammer Throwers will have warm-up throws before commencing competition. Officials will determine the number of warm-up throws. Please take caution of fellow athletes and implements.
Hammer Throw
Expected numbers for Hammer Throw will be 11 competitors (9 Female, 2 Male). With a large number of Female Hammer Throws, only the top 8 Females after 3 rounds of competition will receive a further 3 throws. Both Males will receive 6 throws. This will ensure the competition runs for roughly 1 hour and 10 minutes and concludes at 11:10 am.
Competition Bibs:
All registered AV athletes will be required to wear their 2023/24 season bibs. Invitational Athletes who do not have current AV bibs will be able to collect a temporary set at administration located outside the canteen.
Parking
Due to the Australian Formula 1 construction, the main carpark off Aughtie Drive is CLOSED. Attendees are required to park via Aquatic Drive, near Albert Park Yacht Club.
SHOE DECLARATION – National Permit Meets
As the A Field events are World Permit meets, Open & U20 athletes in these events are required to complete an AV online Shoe Declaration Form before their first HVC meet. Any State Record, National Record or International qualifying performance will not be ratified without a Shoe Declaration being submitted.

All Open & U20 Athletes inclusive of Para athletes, attempting a State Record, National Record, or International qualifier MUST complete a shoe declaration form before participation at an AV Throwers meet.
