Following the Victorian circuit breaker lockdown from Friday 12th February to Wednesday 17th February, Athletics Victoria and the AVSL Committee have agreed to the following steps in regard to Round 7.
AVSL Round 7 Cancellation
Unfortunately, Athletics Victoria will not be re-scheduling Round 7 of AVSL, and as such AVSL will continue with Round 8 on the weekend of the 6th of March. Entries for Round 8 will open on Wednesday 24th February at 2pm.
AVSL Playoff Eligibility
In light of the cancellation of Round 7 and to provide as many people the opportunity to participate in the AVSL Playoffs, entries for Round 7 will count towards both the total round eligibility requirements as well as individual event eligibility requirements for AVSL Playoffs.
An example of this would be if an athlete has competed in two rounds prior to round 7 and had entered Round 7 to participate in the 1500m for the first time during the 2020/21 AVSL season. The athlete would now be eligible to participate in the AVSL Playoffs in the 1500m without having to compete in the final three rounds of AVSL.
Please Note: For eligibility purposes in Results Hub, all pre-entries that were unable to compete due to the lockdown during round 7 will be marked as DNF.
Transfer of Individual Round Entry
Athletes who purchased a $15 individual round entry for AVSL Round 7 will have this transferred to AVSL Round 8. Whilst individual round entries for AVSL Round 7 will be transferred, event entries will not.
Each athlete wishing to contest AVSL Round 8 will be required to enter individual events via the Members Portal from Wednesday the 24th February at 2pm.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times.
