Athletics Victoria is proud to release the 2021/22 Summer Calendar. With almost 60 events from September to April, we are full of enthusiasm to see members back at track and field.

The AV summer season kicks off with the Victorian All Schools Track Relay Championships on Wednesday, September 8.

Our summer club track and field competition- Athletics Victoria Shield League (AVSL), returns from October to March. Round 1 of the AVSL season begins on Saturday, October 2, with Playoffs scheduled for Saturday, March 5.

On Thursday, December 9, we see the return of ZATOPEK:10 to Lakeside Stadium, the location of over 23 meets over the summer season.

The return of Specialist Meets, School Carnivals and State Championships compliment a busy summer calendar, rounded out by the Victorian Master’s Track & Field Championships in April.

Ross Cunningham, General Manager Sport Delivery and Government, says, “It has been a challenging 18 months for everyone; however, we’re excited to launch the summer 2021-22 Calendar providing almost 60 events over this coming AV Summer season. I want to thank all the members and stakeholders for their incredible support over the past year and a half and look forward to hopefully being able to get back into summer given the current situations Victoria and Australia are experiencing.”

Although Athletics Victoria administers many events across the season, we look at the success clubs like Box Hill have had with the Box Hill Classic and Box Hill Burn and encourage all AV affiliated clubs to pursue the opportunity of staging an event. AV has created a new Club Meet form for clubs looking to host a club meet with AV assistance, which provides more information on what services are available to you and your club. Clubs can view and complete this form by visiting the Events page here at the Athletics Victoria website.

The calendar is designed to provide a clear pathway and provide track and field opportunities across the summer months. Whether you are new to the sport or returning, we have something for everyone. We are still working to provide further opportunities during the season and will keep you updated as we progress to the start of the season.
