Overview

An integral part of any competition are the Officials who guide our programs and manage event day procedures.  Highly trained and skilled in delivering athletics to all ages and abilities, Officials are the key to a successful sporting experience for our members.

Being an Official can open doors to wide range of events and experiences, as well as provide social opportunities within an exciting sport.  Ongoing education and training, together with mentoring programs are central to the commitment Athletics Victoria provides our Officials.

Become an Official

Becoming an official could be for you:

  • Think you know your athletics?
  • Do you relish the pressure of competition?
  • Or do you just want to be in and amongst the action trackside?

Whether you’re a parent seeking further involvement in your child’s chosen sport, or an athlete or coach looking to gain a new perspective on your craft, officiating is a great way to appreciate and learn about athletics when you don’t want to run, jump, or throw.

Attend any of Victorian Officials discipline specific education sessions, and successfully complete the subsequent open-book quiz, and you’ll be certified as an Athletics Australia Official.
