Athletics Victoria states squads offer a pathway for individuals to compete in a results focused environment against athletes from around Australia in both track and field, and out of stadia competition. State team’s are made up of athletes who have met certain criteria after competing in state level championships.

Athletics Victoria: 2019 Australian All Schools Championships: Important news


The Australian All Schools Championships will be held in Perth from December 6th – 8th – with the Victorian team travelling to Perth on December 5th.

IMPORTANT Team Selection Information


The nomination process remains unchanged, with top 2 age group finishers in ALL under 14/15/16/17/18 events qualifying for automatic selection.

Para-athlete selection: 2 Ambulant & 2 wheelchair para-athlete’s per event in both U16 & U18 age groups.

Eligible athletes will have until Midday (12:00PM) Monday November 4th to submit entry and FULL team payment (via the AV Member Portal).

3rd and 4th place finishers (emergencies) in each event will be asked to nominate via the emergency nomination form if they wish to be considered for any automatic places that are not filled. ONLY nominating athletes will be contacted for these additional places.

Payment for additional places must be made by 11.59PM Monday November 5th

Team Travel Costs
Team travel is compulsory for all athletes not competing in the National Nitro Schools Challenge.

AV athlete – $1,125
Nitro Schools athlete – $505 (does not include flights)

The AV team levy covers meals from Thursday dinner to Sunday lunch, including all forms of transportation and physiotherapy for the duration of the championship.

Flight Information

The flights are return MEL-PER-MEL.

Those athletes that will finish competing before midday Sunday will be allocated the earlier Sunday afternoon flight to Melbourne. We will also work on grouping family members together to leave and return at the same time.

Unfortunately, we are not able to guarantee any preferences but will do our best to accommodate.

Further Information

Athletes will be lodged at Quality Resort Sorrento Beach, 1 Padbury Cir, Sorrento WA 6020, for the entirety of the trip.

Team management will always be present at the hotel, ensuring the safety of all athletes in what is set to be a warm week.

Laptops will be available in the Victorian team information tent (top bend of track) at Tom Kelly Athletics Track (Doncaster) for the duration of the Victorian All Schools Championships for qualified athletes to complete team levy payment.

General Information

  • Only financial members of a State or Territory Member Association are eligible to compete for an Australian Championship as an individual or in a team category.
  • Athletics Australia encourage nominated participants to wear their State or Territory uniform when competing and for presentation ceremonies.
