Age Groups

Tayleb Willis Hurdles

Age groups across the 2019/20 season may vary depending on the competition. Before entering an event make sure you check the age group you should be participating in. Some athletes competing in AV Shield competition may wish to compete up an age group in order to qualify for National competition which follows a different age calculation, if you wish to do this you must notify AV prior to competing in order to be eligible to score points for your club. Failing to do so you will still be allowed to compete and qualify, but your AV Shield points will not be counted to your clubs overall point score.

This is due to the various overarching governing bodies that oversee athletic competition in Australia and the split season across two years in the southern hemisphere.

If you have any questions on what age group you should be in, email summer@athsvic.org.au or call AV on (03) 8646 4500.
