Overview

Athletics Victoria’s championship events provides the platform to compete against Victoria’s best athletes. With competition for junior, open and masters athletes covering track, field, relay and multi-events.

Our championships are a stepping stone towards national-level competition, giving you the chance to earn Victorian team selection and represent your state against Australia’s best.

5000m Championships

The Victorian 5000m Championships is highly popular event on the Athletics Victoria calendar and is often the breeding ground for some of Victoria’s strongest middle distance athletes.

  • Date: Thursday 17th November 2016
  • Entries Close: 11:59pm Thursday 10th November 2016
  • 2016 Host Venue: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

Relay Championships

The Victorian Relay Championships is a club based event that offers relays from 4×100 to 4x1500m and is similar to the Penn Relay Carnival in the U.S.A with the 4x400m finals being run at the Zatopek:10 meet.

  • Entries Close: 11:59pm Sunday 13th November 2016

Country Championships

The Victorian Country Track and Field Championships provides competition for country athletes and is an important fixture for regional clubs.

  • Date: Thursday 26th – Saturday 28th January 2017
  • Entries Close: 11:59pm Sunday 15th January 2017
  • 2017 Host Venue: Casey Fields, Casey
  • Accommodation: The City of Casey has a number of accommodation options in the area. If you are planning on staying please see list of options below.

Multi Championships

The Victorian Multi Championships provides competition for athletes from under 14 to overage age groups to compete against the states best multi athletes.

  • Date: Saturday 4th – Sunday 5th February 2017
  • Entries Close: 11:59pm Sunday 22nd January 2017
  • 2017 Host Venue: Tom Kelly Reserve, Doncaster

 

Victorian Track & Field Championships

The Victorian Track & Field Championships provides competition for athletes from Under 14 to Open age groups to compete against the states best and achieve selection for the Australian Athletics Championships.

Timetables will be event specific for all ages.

WEEKEND 1: 

  • Date: Friday 24th – Sunday 26th February 2017
  • Entries Close: 11:59pm Sunday 12th February 2017
  • 2017 Host Venue: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

WEEKEND 2:

  • Date: Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th March 2017.
  • Entries Close: 11:59pm Sunday 19th February 2017.
  • 2017 Host Venue: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

Masters Championships

The Victorian Masters Championships provides athletes aged 30 plus the opportunity to come together and compete in a state level competition and mix it with masters participants from metro and country regions.

  • Date: Saturday 25th – Sunday 26th March 2017

  • 2017 Host Venue: Tom Kelly Athletics Track, Doncaster
