Overview

Athletics Victoria’s championship events provides the platform to compete against Victoria’s best athletes. With competition for junior, open and masters athletes covering track, field, relay and multi-events.

Our championships are a stepping stone towards national-level competition, giving you the chance to earn Victorian team selection and represent your state against Australia’s best.

Relay Championships

The Victorian Track Relay Championships is a club based competition that offers relays from 4×100 to 4x1500m with the 4x400m finals being run at the Zatopek:10 on Thursday 14th December 2017.

  • Date: Saturday 11th November 2017
  • Entries Close: 11:59am (Midday) Monday 6th November 2017 – No late or on the day entries will be accepted
  • 2017 Host Venue: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

 

5000m Championships

The Victorian 5000m Championships is highly popular event on the Athletics Victoria calendar and is often the breeding ground for some of Victoria’s strongest middle distance athletes.

  • Date: Thursday 23rd November 2017
  • Entries Close: 11:59pm Wednesday 15th November – No late or on the day entries will be accepted
  • 2017 Host Venue: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

Multi Championships

The Victorian Multi Championships provides competition for athletes from under 14 to overage age groups to compete against the states best multi athletes.

  • Date: Saturday 6th of January & Sunday 7th of January, 2018
  • Entries Close: TBC
  • 2017 Host Venue: Geelong

 

Country Championships

The Victorian Country Track and Field Championships provides competition for country athletes and is an important fixture for regional clubs.

  • Date: Friday 26th – Sunday 28th January, 2018
  • Entries Close: 11:59pm Sunday 14th January – No late or on the day entries will be accepted
  • 2017 Host Venue: Ballarat

Victorian Track & Field Championships

With the Commonwealth Games being held on the Gold Coast in 2018, Athletics Australia have split the Open and Junior National Championships for this year from the original format in 2017.

Athletics Victoria has replicated and aligned with Athletics Australia for the Victorian Championships with the Junior and Open Championships running on two separate weekends at Lakeside Stadium consecutively.

Victorian Junior and Para Track & Field Championships: 

  • Date: Friday 23 – Sunday 25 February, 2018
  • Entries Close: 11:59pm Sunday 11th February 2018 – No late or on the day entries will be accepted
  • 2017 Host Venue: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

Victorian Open and Para Track & Field Championships:

  • Date: Friday 2 – Sunday 4 March, 2018
  • Entries Close: 11:59pm Sunday 18th February – No late or on the day entries will be accepted
  • 2017 Host Venue: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

Masters Championships

The Victorian Masters Championships provides athletes aged 30 plus the opportunity to come together and compete in a state level competition and mix it with masters participants from metro and country regions.

  • Date: Saturday 24th March & Sunday 25th March
  • Entries Close: 11:59pm Sunday 11th March – No late or on the day entries will be accepted
  • 2017 Host Venue: Tom Kelly Athletic Track, Doncaster
