Overview

Athletics Victoria’s championship events provides the platform to compete against Victoria’s best athletes. With competition for junior, open and masters athletes covering track, field, relay and multi-events.

Our championships are a stepping stone towards national-level competition, giving you the chance to earn Victorian team selection and represent your state against Australia’s best.

5000m Championships

The Victorian 5000m Championships is highly popular event on the Athletics Victoria calendar and is often the breeding ground for some of Victoria’s strongest middle distance athletes.

  • Date: Thursday 15th November 2018
  • Entries Close: 11:59am (Midday) Wednesday 7th November – No late or on the day entries will be accepted
  • 2018 Host Venue: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

Track Relay Championships

The Victorian Track Relay Championships is a club based competition that offers relays from 4×100 to 4x1500m with the 4x400m finals being run at the Zatopek:10 on Thursday 13th December 2018.

  • Date: Saturday 24th November, 2018
  • Entries Close: 11:59am (Midday) Monday 19th November 2018 – No late or on the day entries will be accepted
  • 2018 Host Venue: Hagenauer Reserve

Multi Championships

The Victorian Multi Championships provides competition for athletes from under 14 to overage age groups to compete against the states best multi athletes.

Date: Saturday 12th January – Sunday 13th January, 2019

Entries Close: 11:59am (Midday) Monday 7th January, 2019 – No late or on the day entries will be accepted

2019 Host Venue: Bendigo

Country Championships

The Victorian Country Track and Field Championships provides competition for country athletes and is an important fixture for regional clubs.

  • Date: Saturday 26th – Monday 28th January, 2019
  • Entries Close: 11:59am (Midday) Monday 14th January – No late or on the day entries will be accepted
  • 2019 Host Venue: Bendigo

Victorian Track & Field Championships

In 2019 the Victorian Open and Junior Track & Field Championships will be split across two weekends once again to form a bumper fortnight of athletics at Lakeside Stadium for ages.

Victorian State Track & Field Championships (Weekend 1)

  • Date: Friday 1 – Sunday 3 March, 2019
  • Entries Close: 11:59am (Midday) Monday 18th February 2019 No late or on the day entries will be accepted.
  • 2019 Host Venue: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

Victorian State Track & Field Championships (Weekend 2)

  • Date: Friday 8 – Sunday 10 March, 2019
  • Entries Close: 11:59am (Midday) Monday 25th February 2019 – No late or on the day entries will be accepted
  • 2019 Host Venue: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

Masters Championships

The Victorian Masters Championships provides athletes aged 30 plus the opportunity to come together and compete in a state level competition and mix it with masters participants from metro and country regions.

  • Date: Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th March 2019
  • Entries Close: 11:59am (Midday) Tuesday 12th March – No late or on the day entries will be accepted
  • 2019 Host Venue: TBC
