Invitational Entries for the Australian Cross Country Championships Close Today

Just a reminder today is the last day for invitational athletes to register for the Open Division at the Australian Cross Country Championships. If you wish to compete, please head to the Athletics Victoria Members Portal, click on the specific event and register. If you are also wishing to nominate yourself for the State Half-Marathon Team, please email Sean Whipp at by 5pm today.

The 2017 Australian Cross Country Championships will descend on the City of Wollongong in 2017, with the Kembla Joggers excited to welcome the nation’s best distance runners to their purpose-built cross country facility.

Athletes aged under 14, under 16, under 18, under 20 and open will have the chance to take home the gold medal for their respective age group.

“The Kembla Joggers and the City of Wollongong are excited to welcome distance runners from across the nation to the Australian Cross Country Championships later this year,” Neil Barnett, Kembla Joggers President, said.

“We are very fortunate to have a fantastic purpose-built cross-country facility here that will provide the perfect setting for great racing. We will work tirelessly with Athletics Australia to make the championships an event to remember and we are sure athletes will enjoy every minute of competing here.”

The Sunshine Coast will welcome athletes competing across 21.1km in 2017, as the Australian Half Marathon Championships descends on the picturesque course that takes in Maroochydore and Moolooloba.
