At the School Sport Victoria Annual General Meeting on 19 November, four Athletics Victoria members and two clubs received SSV Recognition Awards for their services to School Sport Victoria.
Ellen Perry, Ian Fisher and Doreen Gianinni received their awards for their ongoing dedication to SSV Cross Country and Track and Field as officials over many years. Their experience and expertise means that the students get the best of the best. Thus ensuring that events run smoothly and the students can perform at their best.

Trevor Vincent OAM and the Glenhuntly Athletics Club received their awards for their work over many years with the Southern Special Schools Sports Association in providing opportunities for students with disabilities in cross country and track and field. In recent years, this has seen many students go onto the SSV and AV Cross Country Championships and state representation. Trevor was not able to attend the meeting, but Club President, Max Binnington, accepted the award on Trevor’s behalf.
Collingwood Harriers Athletics Club is a long-time friend of school sport. The club has provided the canteen facilities at the SSV State Cross Country Championships for many years making sure athletes, spectators and officials alike are well fed with nutritious food. The club also provides their facilities for training for the Team Vic 12 years and under Track and Field team which allows the team officials to meet with parents, organise training and relays as well as the team photograph. Steve Griffiths accepted the award on behalf of the club.
